Illegal cargo will be used as animal food
The "Limas" was found to have been illegally loaded with 17000 tons corn when she arrived at Semarang on Jan 11, 2016, coming from Imituba via Rio de Janeiro. The cargo will be used as animal food. The cargo certificates lacked a letter of approval or recommendation from the Ministry of Agriculture, so the whole shipment was considered as forged. The police will investigate into the matter to find out if the importer or exporter or both were responsible. The vessel left Semarang again on Jan 14.
