Medevac at Schovenbank anchorage
On May 17, 2012, at 11.30 a.m. the KNRM lifeboat "Koopmansdank" of the station Neeltje Jans was called for a medevac off the "Ek Sky" which was anchorng off Schouwenbank, 15 miles NW of Neeltje Jans. The steward of the tanker had chest pain and breathlessness. The Coastguard Centre Den Helder in consultation with a doctor of the Radio Medical Service of the KNRM decided to medevac the man. He was taken aboard the "Koopmansdank" and taken to a waiting ambulance at the station Neeltje Jans for further transort to a hospital.
