Treatment plant broke down
A third cruise ship has temporarily been moored near the ''Aurora' and 'Vivienne' in Haarlem Port, where Ukrainian refugees are being received, to support the 'Aurora' after its treatment plant has broken. Since October 2022, the two river cruise ships have been moored at the jetty at Spaarndamse Way near the Flores St. A total of 270 refugees will be accommodated on both ships. Recently, the Aurora has been dealing with a defect in a purification pump. The exact consequences of this are not known. For the repair of the pump a spare part is needed, and it will take a while before it can be delivered. To solve the problem in the meantime, a third ship has been docked. The problem with the treatment plant has been temporarily solved by means of a cable between the two ships. The residents of the 'Aurora' can continue to live on the ship and do not have to move. They can also use all facilities on board. As soon as the treatment plant is repaired, the third ship will be removed again.
