The Antigua-Barbuda flagged container m/v "Pioneer Bay", on Jan 25, 2012, around 5.30 a.m. the "Aurora which had come from CTT Hamburg the previous day, at the Strom Quay in Bremerhaven. The "Pioneer Bay", coming from CTA Hamburg, was turning around on the Weser in order to berth at the Strom Quay. Thereby it struck the "Aurora" with its stern before running into the quay. At the time of the accident there was a strom outgoing tide. Both ships were damaged. The "Pioneer Bay" suffered a breach above the water line. No pollution reported. Both ships were ordered to stay in port for the length of surveys. On Jan 26 the "Aurora" moved to the fishing port in Bremerhaven.
