Fire in cargo hold
On Nov 1, 2018, a fire broke out in a cargo hold of the "Andromeda" which had been berthed for maintenance work at the Tuzla Evliya Çelebi Mahallesi Tersaneler Caddesi 6 sinceOct 12. Large plumes of smoke were billowing fiercely from inside. Three workers were treated for smoke inhalation. 17 fire engines and 50 men, police, medical teams and the Turkish Coastguard were deployed, and the fire was partially brought unter control within six hours. Tugs had cooled the hull from outside to keep fuel from exploding due to the intense heat. The reefer left the port again on April 13, 2019, at 2.45 p.m. The ship had meanwhile been registered in Belize and was renamed "Atlantic Rose". It headed to Tripoli and anchored off the port in pos. 34° 28.93' N 035° 50.04' E on April 22 at 10.30 p.m. Report with photos and video: https://www.denizhaber.com.tr/tuzla-gemi-tersanesinde-bakima-alinan-gemide-yangin-cikti-haber-85149.htm https://denizhaber.tv/v/IqJi8RUtWHR http://www.internethaber.com/tuzlada-korkutan-yangin-emniyet-aciklama-yapti-1915679h.htm
