Detention in Salerno

Mon Mar 18 12:41:43 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Amelia Borchard" was detained in Salerno on March 13, 2019, due to deficiencies by the Port Authority during a port state control after its arrival from Alexandria. Some deficiencies were found regarding navigation safety, which rendered the ship below the minimum safety levels required by national and international sector regulations. The Coast Guard found that a hatch with the function of avoiding the entry of water into the cargo holds had failed. The ship sailed again on March 17 after the deficiencies had been corrected, bound to Barcelona, ETA March 19.
