Wreck reached Porto Torres
The 'Atina', which sank in the waters off the Saline beach in Olbia following a fire that broke out at the stern on Aug 10, was unloaded on the morning of Nov 19 at the Asi dock in the Porto Torres industrial port, after the wreck was recovered on Nov 3 by the Resolve Marine from the seabed using the barge 'Conquest MB1'. On Nov 16, the wreck started the voyage on the deck of the 'Conquest MB1', which was towed by the tug 'Cala Azzurra', from the Cocciani industrial dock to the port of Porto Torres. On Nov 17, it moored at the Asi Riva dock. After the yacht has been unloaded, using the newly employed travel lift, it will be transferred to an adjacent shipyard area, at Sardinia Nautic Assistance, the company that takes care of the subsequent refitting or eventual demolition activities. In the meantime, the seabed reclamation activities at the sinking site continued, carried out by the divers of the Olbia Coast Guard. Wreck of burnt out yacht raised
The wreck of the 'Atina', which had sunk on Aug 10, 2024, due to a fire in front of the Saline, has re-emerged from the waters of Olbia on Nov 4. The ship was reised with f a crane, which hoisted the vessel aboard the platform 'Conquest MB1'. On Nov 5, more operations including the inspection and reclamation of the seabed, where the wreck was located, were planned. The Olbia Coastguard will also carry out an inspection of the hull to investigate the cause of the fire. After the operations, the wreck of the 'Atina' will be demolished in Piombino.
