Asphalt Carrier arrives at Newcastle in tow of Austral Salvor after mechanical probs off New Guinea

Svitzer Australia's AUSTRAL SALVOR arriving in Newcastle with the disabled tanker ASPHALT CARRIER on the 5th June. The other tugs assisting the tow were local Newcastle tugs "Svitzer Meringa" and "Willara". The tanker suffered major mechanical problems off New Guinea and it was decided to tow her to Newcastle where her cargo was destined for.
