Deadly accident on barge

A work accident occurred on the barge 'ASP Prosperity' on Nov 15 at 9:15 a.m. , resulting in the death of a deckhand. A deck officer, found the victim lying face down on the barge, unresponsive, with a bluish face. The victim was believed to have been working alone on the barge without supervision. At 09:24 a.m. the 'ASP Glory' reported the incident to the VTS Tanjung Priok, describing the crew member as unconscious with initial indications suggesting electrocution. At 09:38 a.m. a patrol boat from Airud arrived at the location. The officers confirmed that the victim was 90% likely deceased based on an initial assessment. At 09:50 a.m. the VTS Tanjung Priok contacted the agent of the tug to provide the latest updates. The agent was reported to be en route to the vessel for further handling. The Regional Police Polda launchned an investigation into the cause of the accident along with related authorities. The evacuation process and further handling are being carried out in accordance with standard safety procedures.
