Cargo ship rescued 95 migrants
The 'Aslihan' has rescued 95 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea off Malta, among them 92 Bangladeshi, two Egyptians and one Moroccan, who were trying to pass from Africa to Italy in a dinghy. A Maltese Coast Guard aircraft detected the dinghy and made an official Mayday signal. The 'Aslihan' received the signal, changed course and took the migrants on the deck. They were then transferred aboard the NGO ship 'Sea Watch 4'.
Coaster adrift on Northsea
The "Sardinia" suffered engine problems after it had left the port of Immingham on Nov 24, 2012. The tug “Ginger” was called for assistance and connected to the vessel east of Flamborough Head. On Nov 27 at 4.15 a.m. the "Sardinia" was safely delivered to the port of Hull where it remained docked by the end of the month.
