Medevac in Svalbard
On June 9, 2020, the 'Arosa Nueve' requested assistance for a medical evacuation in Svalbard, north of Noruega. Salvamento Marítimo contacted the JRCC Bodø for an evacuation by helicopter of a crew member with diabetic problems. The patient was safely hoisted and transferred to the Tromsø hospital for further treatment.
Trawler seized off Norway
On June 7, 2019, the Norwegian Coast Guard seized the "Arosa Nueve". The patrol boat "Sortland" escorted the ship to Tromsø where it berthed at Breivika at 2.40 a.m. In Tromsø the Norwegian authorities questioned the captain regarding the accusation to have thrown fish overboard. Despite the release of the vessel after the bail, Norway maintained its accusation while the captain ensured that only fish heads were disposed of. The case was handed over to the local police for further investigations. The "Arosa Nueve" was allowed to leave port after paying a deposit. It sailed again on June 9 at 7 a.m. towards Svalbard. Trawler grounded in Sandnes Sound
The "Arosa Nueve" ran aground between Tromsøya and Kvaløyaon June 13, 2018, in the Sandnes Sound. The police was notified at 9.17 p.m. A patrol boat and the fire department in Tromsø with a boat attended at 9.40 p.m. for investigations. At 10.10 p.m. a tug was enroute to the grounding site. No pollution was oberserved. At 11.30 p.m. the trawler was refloated and berthed at Solstrand in Tromsø The grounding was caused by a technical failure of the ship's autopilot. The captain and the 1st officer were drug tested with negative results.
