Allision in Esbjerg
On Feb 9, 2020, around noon the 'Ark Dania' allided with the quay in Esbjerg upon its arrival in Immingham due to fierce winds and sustained damage to the hull. A sailing ban has been issued until the hull damage has been repaired. The ship could not unload the almost 200 vehicles that the ship carries from England both because of the risen water level and the strong with speeds of 37 meters per second. Repairs to the 'Ark Dania' will be carried out at the Atlanta Quay in Esbjerg. The hull was punctured, sliced and dented above the waterline at starboard side on several meters. The roro ferry 'Misida' which was in lay up status in Vlaardingen, was mobilized to replace the 'Ark Dania' on the route to Immingham according to its schedulee. Three stowaways found in trailer
In the morning of Oct 27, 2016, the crew of the "Ark Dania", which was en route to Immingham, got a message from shore that on a camera three People had been seen which had entered the Ferry terminal and probably managed to get on board inside a Trailer. Captain Niels Vestergaard immediately launched a search and the crew succeeded to find the three stowaways. They defended themselves in every way, threatening to harm themselves, damage the ship or pose a risk to the crew. They were taken them to Esbjerg after in Immingham professional guards came on board to help on the return trip. The terminal has now further strengthened routines and guarding.
