Barge lost containers off Rotterdam
On Dec 4, 2012, at noon, the "Comus" lost two containers on the waterway of the Breeddiep off Rozenburg in strong winds and rough seas. Several containers shifted on the deck of the sbarge which was carrying mostly empty boxes. Several ships started to recover the boxes, also the Harbour Service was on scene. The "K.R.V.E. 42" and "K.R.V.E. 59" of the Kon. Roeiers Vereniging Eendracht tried to push one of the containers into the Berg Port which succeeded after several attempts. A mobile crane was called to remove it from the water around midday. The second was recoevered by the buoy layer "Rotterdam" with its own crane. The "Comus" was escorted by a Police boat to the Maasvlakte.
