Fire caused by particle filter

On Jan 22, 2013, around noon a fire started in the engine room onboard the Dutch pilot tender "Aquila" (MMSI-No.: MMSI:246656002; CS: PBXA) in the port of Hoek van Holland. Smoke emerged from the ship's cabin. The local fire brigade was soon on scene and had the fire soon unter control. Short time later the "RPA 15" and "RPA 16" arrived at the Berghaven quay and assisted with the fire fighting operation ,while the KNRM Hoek van Holland attended but did not take action as help was already at hand. The cause of the fire was a particle filter of the engine.
