Tanker got stuck on buoy

Mon Apr 22 18:56:40 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Aqualoyalty" got stuck on a shoal at the Number 12 Horn Island buoy in the Gulf of Mexico, which sits between Horn and Petit Bois Islands, on April 21, 2019, at 11:52 a.m., just minutes before it was set to arrive at the port of Pascagoula. The tanker carrying 21 million gallons of Colombian crude oil at the time. The tanker was located closest to Petit Bois in position 30° 12' 08" N 88° 30' 54" W, off Pascagoula. There have been no signs of pollution. Pollution responders and investigators were inspecting the area and monitoring the tank level for any signs that the tank was leaking. On April 22 the tugs "Signet Challenger", "Signet Reliance", "Signet Valiant", "Signet Victory" and "Signet Vigilant" pulled the ship to Pascagoula, where it was berthed at the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery complex at 7.30 p.m.
