Confiscated ferry grounded in storm
On March 24, 2021, the 'Aqua Hercules' ran aground in a storm in Hatay at İsdemir which also damaged nine other boats in the fishing port in Dörtyol district. The ship, which had been anchored in the Iskenderun Bay by the company's creditors in 2013, was dragged towards the Payas coast where it finally got stuck in shallow waters. The ship was unmanned as the crew of 37 had left due to unpaid debts. It had made its first voyage to Iskenderun Port in 2012 and came from Port Said on July 10, 2013, before it was seized. Arrested vessel towed back into bay
The "Aqua Hercules" which had been towed to Iskenderun port on Feb 10, 2015, from its long time anchorage, for safety reasons in adverse weather was towed back to the bay on Feb 19. The vessel has been anchored in Iskenderun Bay for some 20 months, having been sold to unnamed new owners. There was a wage dispute between the crew and the new or old owners. Suffered an engine failure, Greece
Ferry Aqua Hercules suffered an engine failure in the morning hours June 27 2012 en route to Bari Italy near Igoumentsia port, Greece, with 207 passengers on board. Vessel managed to safely reach Igoumentsia, passengers and vehicles were disembarked to be taken to their destination by another vessel.
