Engine overheated off Lizard Pt.
The 'ANSAC Pride', en route from Brake to Wilmington with 21 crew members on board, suffered an overheating of the main engine 32 miles southeast of Lizard Point in position 49 30 42 N, 004 44 48 W, on Dec 15, 2019, at 10.10 a.m. Repairs were expected to take three to ten hours. Investigations were launched to determine cause of the problem. The vessel was carrying 15,100 tonnes of timber. Weather on scene was gale with Beaufort 8-9, decreasing to 5-7. At 3.55 p.m. the problem of the main engine overheating was fixed and the ship resumed sailing with an ETA as of Dec 28.
