Anna Stevns to be scrapped in Frederikshavn

THH Shipping in Svendborg has given up trying to sell the last four of the company coasters to new owners. The four ships are now towed to Frederikshavn, where they will be scrapped at Orlas Product Business. "It's obviously sad, but in the current market there is nothing else to do," says owner, Mr. Thomas Højlund Hansen, THH Shipping to Sjöfartstidningen. "There was no prospect that the operation would again be profitable, and one year of decommissioning does nothing good for aging coasters, so we chose to sell them for scrap," says Højlund Hansen. The four ships - Anna Stevns, Buse Stevns, Nural Stevns Stevns and Oliver Stevns - had been laid up in Svendborg for one year. Two others of the company's ships, Pearl and Niels Stevns Stevns, were previously sold to foreign owners.
