Disabled tank barge blocked Weser
On Dec 28, 2017, the ship traffic on the Weser at Nienburg was stopped after the "Yggdrasil“, 1129 ts (EU-No.: 04031470), got disabled at river km 260,3. The ship which was loaded with 950 tons liquid fertilizer had tried to berth at Leseringen at the right river shore to unload the cargo. The manoever failed, and the stern of the barge was pushed onto the opposite river bank by the current. The rudder was severely damaged. The ship was secured on site until the "„Anton“ and "Pollux“ pulled the "Yggdrasil" to the wharf on other river side on Dec 29 at 12.30 p.m. The ship traffic on the river was stopped until the tank barge was safe.
