Historic sloop taking on water
The RNLI boat from Buckie was alerted after the "Anna af Sand" began taking on water on July 19, 2015, shortly before 10.30 p.m. 15 miles north, north-east of Buckie Harbour. The RNLI boat from Buckie was asked to assist the boat – which had seven people on board – and escort the vessel back to the harbour. The captain, Alan Rosand, said that his crew and he were sailing from Inverness to Stavanger when they started to take water on board due to a 3-4ft crack in the craft. The crew had to use pumps, however, one would not function, so they placed a distress call to the Aberdeen Coastguard. The Buckie Lifeboat placed pumps on board the ship and escorted it to Buckie Harbour, arriving at 12:40 a.m. Report with photos: https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/moray/buckie/643853/160-year-old-ship-rescued-buckie-lifeboat/
