Engine trouble off British coast

The "Muammer Yagci" suffered an engine fault and a problem to its camshaft in position 50 55 N 06 19 W on May 17, 2018. Repairs could not be effected at sea. The tug "Kingston" arrived on scene on May 18 at 9 p.m. and took the vessel in tow to Falmouth. The ship was bound from Pula for Runcorn with 1.472 cement bags with a weight of about 2213.15 metric tonnes and was carrying 30.2 metric tonnes of diesel oi. On May 20 at 10.10 a.m. the ship docked at the A&P Falmouth Ltd. Shipyard. She left the port on June 5 at 10 a.m., bound to Runcorn, ETA June 7.

Engine failure off Kiel Canal

On Nov 11, 2017, at 8 p.m. the "Muammer Yagci" suffered engine failure upon entering the southern chamber of the Kiel-Canal locks in Kiel-Holtenau. Due to a fast reaction of pilot and lock personnel the ship could be brought under control and secured within the lock. Following the canal transit, the ship dropped anchor on Brunsbüttel Southern roads on Nov 12 at 6 a.m.
