Hapag-Lloyd charters vessel for AT2 Service

Following the winter season on the North Atlantic with its extraordinary rough weather conditions the vessels operating in Hapag-Lloyd St. Lawrence Coordinated Service 2 (AT2) are no longer sailing on schedule, the company said in its press release. Hapag-Lloyd have decided to charter two vessels : MV “Colette” and MV “Anina”. After these sailings Hapag-Lloyd regular ships will be back to normal long term schedule.

Hapag-Lloyd to launch new Finland Express Service in April 2013

Hapag-Lloyd will launch the Finland Express (FIX), a new complementary service, directly connecting German Hubs with ports in the Gulf of Finland as well as Gulf of Bothnia, said in the company's press release. This fixed day weekly service will start in April 2013. The FIX service will be operated with two vessels with first sailings as follows: MV Anina ets Hamburg April 2, 2013 / MV Hanse Confidence ets Bremerhaven April 8, 2013 - In combination with the Russia Express (REX), the FIX will provide a second, weekly sailing to and from Russian as well as Finnish main ports.

After the collision of the "OOCL Finnland" with the "Tyumen 2" the "OOCL Finnland" was released at 7.30 p.m. on Apr 14 and continued its voyage to Gdynia, ETA Apr 15, 9 p.m. The "Tyumen 2" was towed to Rendsburg for further investigations. When and how the wheelhouse would be raised, was not yet clear. The canal traffic is passing the accident site in one-lane-traffic until the debris is removed. Investigations regarding the accident are lasting.
