Diesel tanks to be emptied after grounding

After the "Andre H” lost the barges “I.V. 9” and “I.V.10” enroute from Gaspé to the Île-aux- Coudres in waves of over two meters height and winds up to 30 knots, the barges remained grounded close to Anse-Pleureuse in Haute-Gaspésie. One sank in shallow water, and the other grounded on the rshore. The firefighters from Mont-Louis were the first responders and examined the grounding site. The Sûreté of Québec and the Coast Guard were called to assist. The diesel tanks were to be emptied until Dec 18. There was no oil spill reported. Tug Andre H lost 2 barges in storm

During Sunday evening, tug Andre H, belonging to Groupe Ocean, towing dredge I.V.8 and barges I.V. 9 and 10 to Ile-aux-Coudres, lost those 2 last in snowy storm. The barges grounded close to Anse Pleureuse. One sank and the other was grounded on the rocky bank. No one lost life or injured. From newspaper LeSoleil, Tuesday 17 Dec.2013, p.10.
