Cargo ship towed to Brest

Mon Sep 23 13:13:11 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Amouesa", which had sailed from Saint Nazaire in the late afternoon of Sep 18, 2019, experienced propulsion problems while en route to the port of Caen-Ouistreham. The unloaded ship was at the approach of the English Channel off the coast of Brittany, when an electrical failure, occurred. The Dutch tug "Brent" (IMO: 9507051), which was nearby enroute from Liverpool to the Netherlands, intervened and took the casualty in tow. The convoy arrived in Brest on Sep 23 at 8.10 a.m., where the cargo ship was berthed at the Quay de la Douane. The ship sailed again after repairs on Oct 4 at 2.15 p.m. and finally reached its destination on Oct 7 at 5 a.m. At 9 p.m. it left Caen again, headed to Lisbon, ETA Oct 12.
