Cooling water pipe failure

The 'Amstelborg' (11894 gt, built 2006), was disabled due to the failure of a cooling water pipe 19,19 miles south south-west from La Romaine, Quebec, in position 49 58 19.2 N, 60 59 15.0 W, on Nov 19, 2019, at 11.30 a.m. The crew carried out repairs and the vessel resumed its voyage from Antwerp to Port Cartier where it arrived on Nov 20 at 1 p.m.

Engine trouble off Sept Iles

The "Amstelborg", coming from Baie Comeau, suffered a mechanical failure and had to drop anchor off Sept-Iles, Quebec, in position 49 33 30 N, 67 11 12 W, on Nov 27, 2018, at 12.45 a.m. for repairs. On Nov 28 at 3.50 a.m. the ship berthed in the port of Pointe Noire.

Holed in Gemlik, fuel leaked

General cargo vessel Amstelborg got hole or holes in hull in fuel tanks area on April 18 while berthed in Gemlik port, Turkey, Marmara sea. Strong south wind either broke mooring lines, or vessel started to punch against pier, it is unclear. Some 25-30 tons of fuel leaked into he harbor. Clean-up under way.
