Coast Guard crew medevacs man with stab wounds from ship in Gulf
A Coast Guard air crew medevaced a man suffering from stab wounds off a freight ship 230 miles southeast of Southwest Pass on Friday, Coast Guard officials said Saturday. The Coast Guard in New Orleans got a request for help from the crew of the Yusho Regulus. A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from New Orleans and a HC-144 Ocean Sentry crew from Mobile, Ala., were sent to the ship. Yusho Regulus demolished shore loaders in Santos
On Sep 15, 2012, the "Yusho Regulus", presently berthed at Export Corridor, Warehouse 38, in the port of Santos, had her mooring ropes broken when the "Coal Hunter" passed by shed 38 proceeding to outer roads. As she had all mooring ropes broken, the master of the vessel dropped both anchors and vessels astern touched both shore loaders which caused serious damages to the vessel and shore equipments. Port operators are working to have at least one shore loader repaired about Sep 22. For the other ship loader, port operators could not precise how long same will be repaired. Already before the accident, berthing delays was about 30 days due to congestion on berthing.
