Ambulance boat disabled by fire after return from repair of recent fire
After having taken two soccer teams from Kvamsøya to Larsnes, the "Ambu" they had hired suffered an engine fire on June 22, 2013, at 3.53 p.m. All 25 persons which had already boarded the ship, which was 100 meters from the Pier, had to be evacuated on the shore. A fire engine from Kvamsøya doused the fire in 10-15 minutes. The soccer players thus had to take a ferry as the "Ambu" was disabled. When the lifeboat "Emmy Dyvi" arrived at 4.45 p.m., the Situation was already under control. It turned out that an exhaust hose had broken off, and exhaust had blown with high temperature out of the engine compartment. The boat had only returned from Kvamsøya after a major fire on board. A reserve boat had taken its role for about five months. Norwegian report with photo: http://www.heroynytt.no/nyhet.cfm?nyhetid=6294
