Fri Nov 29 11:25:49 CET 2024 Timsen

On Nov 28, 2024, at 4.15 p.m. fire broke in the bow thruster room of the 'Amanpuri' during works at the Royal Niestern Sander Shipyard in Farmsund. There were a few people on board when the fire broke out, they got off the ship safely. The fire brigade scaled up to a 'major fire' in order to deploy sufficient materials and personnel. The fire brigade got the fire under control after 1,5 hours. An employee of the shipyard inhaled smoke and was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up. River cruise ship arrested for discharge of faeces

Mon May 15 13:15:39 CEST 2017 Timsen

The "Serenade II" had to interrupt its voyage to Regensburg in Nuremberg with 120 passengers and 30 crew members on May 10, 2017. The ship was detained because faeces were discharged unfiltered into the Main-Danube Canal. The Nuremberg water police made the discovery during a routine check at the Europa Quay in the port. Inestigations showed that the sewage treatment plant on board was defective. Fecal traces were found in the water of the Canal. As long as the sewage treatment plant on board has not been repaired, the ship remained sidelined. The police blamed the engineer (35) and captain (52) for the pollution. The prosecutor ordered criminal proceedings against both for water pollution.
