AmaWaterways Christens New AmaMora River Cruise Ship on the Rhine

Mon Jul 22 09:27:46 CEST 2019 arnekiel

AmaWaterways has welcomed its 23rd ship, AmaMora, at a riverside ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany, in the heart of the Rhine Gorge. The launch Thursday follows last week’s christening of the line’s largest ship, AmaMagna – which is twice the size of a regular river cruise ship -- on the Danube, and the May debut of AmaDouro in Portugal. AmaMora, a 156-passenger ship, was christened by Ensemble Travel Group president Libbie Rice, who said it was her “first time being a godmother to anyone or anything”. Rice is the latest godmother in AmaWaterways’ tradition of honoring influential women in the travel industry.

AmaMora embarks on maiden voyage from Amsterdam

Wed Jun 12 15:24:30 CEST 2019 arnekiel

AmaWaterways’ AmaMora embarked on her maiden voyage on 3 June, making her the third in a trio of new river cruise ships to have joined the fleet this year – a record for the brand. AmaMora departed the Port of Amsterdam in the Netherlands heading for Basel in Switzerland. The 156-guest ship will be officially christened and blessed by her godmother Libbie Rice, co-president of Ensemble Travel Group, during a ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany on the week commencing 15 July.
