Arrest warrant opened against crew member
The German Federal Police arrested a 37-year-old man from Berlin on board the 'Amadea' after the arrival from Amsterdam in Bremerhaven on Nov 18, 2021, at 8 a.m. During the immigration control, they found that the German crew member had not paid a penalty order of 1.200 euros for driving without a license. He was threatened with a replacement prison sentence of 30 days. Then the ship would have left again without him. He was surprised when he was called to the bridge and the federal police opened the warrant for his arrest. He was initially unable to pay the amount. As usual with arrest warrants, he would have been immediately taken to a prison. Instead the federal police drove him to a bank, where he got the sum and paid the fine. He was then brought back on board in good time before the ship left.
