Alsten allided with quay

Wed Dec 28 12:18:32 CET 2011 Timsen

The ferry route Søvik-Herøy was out of service in the evening of Dec 27, 2011, after the "Alsten" crashed into the ferry port at Søvik in the afternoon due to strong winds. Thew 18 passengers were not hurt. Attempts to pull off the ship were carried out by two tugs in the evening. Boreal Transport Nord thus asked travellers to take the route Sandnessjøen-Dønna instead. The Sovik-Austbø-Herøy-Brasøy-route was taken up again on Dec 28 morning at 5:50 a.m. by the replacement ferry "Løkta". Damage to the "Alsten" seemed to be, however, minor.
