Gitta Gas had engine failure in İstanbul Strait

Mon Dec 07 14:02:36 CET 2015 arnekiel

Last night there was another near-miss incident at the Strait of Istanbul when 98 m. LPG carrier "Gitta Gas" experienced an engine problem while passing the narrowest part at Kandilli Point, Turkish maritime News Agency www.kaptanhaber.com reported. The incident took place right after midnight, on 6th of December. The gas carrier, which had a pilot onboard during the incident, was on the way from Marmara Sea to Black Sea and tugboats were sent by the Turkish Coastal safety Administration after which the vessel was taken to Büyükdere area and anchored there. The vessel will proceed to voyage after surveyors will carry out a survey to find out the engine problem. http://www.seanews.com.tr/news/157020/M-T-Gitta-Gas-had-engine-failure-in-Istanbul-Strait.html
