Inland tanke Alina grounded on River Elbe - later refloatd
The german inland tanker "Alina", which grounded on a sandbank on the Elbe in front of the Zollenspieker nature reserve in the afternoon of Aug 16, 2017, was freed during floods. According to the fire brigade, there was no damage to the ship's hull, reported NDR 90.3 on Thursday. No one had been hurt. The "Alina" is now in a shipyard in Oortkaten. She sailed again on Aug 31 around 7.45 p.m. and berthed at the Autoterminal Hamburg on the Rethe at 9 p.m. The 85-meter-long inland vessel was unloaded as it sailed from the lock to Hamburg and suddenly ran out of the fairway. About 500 meters east of Zollenspieker the ship then ran on a sandbank. According to the ship's guide, the steering system was defective.
