Collision on the Spree
On the weekend Aug /9, 2020, the 'Alexander von Humboldt' was in collision with a sailing yacht at the exit of the Rummelsburg Lake in Berlin. The vessel was underway with about 7,5 knots when it hit the small boat which had a limited manoeverability due to a lack of wind. The passenger ship did not seem to have reduced its speed nor had it tried an evasie manoever. Witnesses however remarked a full astern manoever. One person aboard the yacht was slightly injured. The crew of two was underway with a training boat and obviously had got into a fairway of the Spree river.
