Medevac off Lisbon

In the morning of Aug 26, 2016, the "Cecilia" had to change her course and head for the Portuguese coast to medevac an Filipino crew member, who had suffered faceinjuries and other traumas after a fall of three meters. He was airlifted by a helicopter of the Portuguese Air Force and taken to Lisbon. The vessel resumed the voyage from Ceuta to Tornio.

Bridge closed after allision

In the night of Nov 23, 2012, the "Cecilia" allided with the Sluiskil Bridge which was severely damaged. The carog vessel had sailed from Terneuzen short before midnight and was enroute Ghent when it struck the bridge head on the east side at Zaamslag. The system to fasten the bascule bridge was damaged. The bridge had to be closed for road traffic until 7.50 a.m. Traffic on the N 61 was diverted via the Terneuzen locks which led to congestions there. The "Cecilia" docked in Ghent short past 4 a.m.

Pilot fell into the Elbe

On Feb 20, 2012, the at 6.42 a.m a pilot fell into the Elbe when about to climb from a pilot vessel onto the "Cecilia“ on Brunsbuettel anchorage. The vessel was ordered to anchor on site, and resumed its voyage from Bützfleth to Dunkirk with fertilizer at 11.10 a.m. after investigations by the police were completed. The pilot was immediately recovered by the pilot vessel near the Old Lock Harbour in Brunsbüttel but collapsed soon afterwards. He was re-animated and taken to Intensive Care in the West Coast Hospital Brunsbüttel in life threatening condition. He obvioulsy did not use the platform intended for boarding ship's but climbed a fallreep and did not wear a safety vest, as obliged. The man is still in critical condition.
