Rudder failure in Dardanelles
On June 11, the Coastal Safety Direction was alerted by the 'Alberta'. The ship had suffered a locked rudder en route from Singapore to Ambarli with a cargo of iron steel and containers between Nara and Kilitbahir during the transit of theDardanlles north of Çanakkale. The ship got assistance by the lifeboat 'KEGM 6' and the tugs 'Kurtama 3' and 'Kurtarma 6'. It was taken to an anchorage in the Marmara Sea off the Strait in Sevketiye waters.
