Tanker rescued three castaways

Salvamento Marítimo taken three crew members who had abandoned a burning ship 70 miles from Cabo de Gata, to the Almería airport on March 29, 2020. At 2:30 p.m. the MRCC in Almería coordinating was notfified by the 'Johann Schulte' of the sighting of a burning ship in the vicinity of the tanker which was requested to assist. The MRCC mobilized the Helimer 222 helicopter. A little later, a plane from the Customs Surveillance service reported that it has seen a troubled ship. An Algerian ship was nearby and has also been requested to assist. Then the tanker informed the Almería MRCC that it has rescued the three crew members of the ship from the life raft. The helicopter picked them up. At Almería airport an ambulance was waiting for them.
