Medevac off Pas-de-Calais
On Mar 10, 2012, at 11:45, a.m., the "Coral Obelia" requested medical assistance of the CROSS Gris-Nez after one of the crew fell ill. The tanker was transiting in the lane of traffic separation scheme of Pas-de-Calais in towards the Netherlands. The CROSS immediately organized a telephone conference with the Navy Medical Consultation Center in Toulouse and the Maritime Medical Service Coordination in Le Havre who advised a medical evacuation by helicopter to the hospital in Boulogne-sur-Wed. A Dauphin helicopter of the Naval Base in Le Touquet was immediately sent with a medical team of the hospital in Boulogne-sur-Mer on board. After the man was hoisted, he was immediately transported to the hospital in Boulogne-sur-Mer, where he arrived at 2:15 p.m.
Medevac off Flushing
On Nov 1, 2011, the crew of the KNRM-Boat "Uly" was requested for a medevac from the "Coral Obelia" at 2:26 p.m. A crewmember suffered a hand injury. The tanker enter the Oostgat near the KNRM-station and was in sight within two minutes. The wounded man climbed aboard over the pilot ladder though had a lot of pain. The agent of the ship ordered a taxi to take the patient to the Admiral de Ruyter hospital in Flushing. Within 20 minutes the "Uly" reached the outer harbor of Flushing and berthed at the Poseidon jetty.
