Detention in Piräus

Fri Feb 14 08:53:03 CET 2025 Timsen

The 'Akka' has been detained by the Greek port authorities on Feb 13, 2025, in Piräus as the result of an inspection following its arrival from Travemünde. The ship had entered the port on Feb 12 and remained stationary as of Feb 14. The Attica Group has chartered theTT-Line’s RoPax ferry for nearly a year to operate on its Adriatic service. The vessel departed from Travemünde fon Jan 27 and was initially expected to enter the service on the Patras-Igoumenitsa-Ancona-Venice route on Feb 10.

Charter to Attica group

Thu Jan 30 09:26:45 CET 2025 Timsen

The TT-Line have chartered the 'Akka' to the Attica group as a temporary relief vessel on the Ancona-Patras run. The ropax vessel is the former 'Nils Holgersson', built in 2001 by the SSW in Bremerhaven. When the name was taken over by a much larger newbuilding in 2022, the ferrys continued service for the TT-Line as 'Akka' on the routes in the Baltic. It is the name of a wild goose in the famous Swedish fairy tale "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson'. The ship left Travemünde on Jan 27, 2025, and transited the Kiel Canal on Jan 28 en route to Algeciras with an ETA as of Feb 1.

Medevac in the early morning

Tue Jun 12 09:42:05 CEST 2012 Timsen

In the early morning of Juen 11 the lifeboat "Theo Fischer" of the DGzRS-station Barhöft medevaced an elderly Swiss passenger from the "Nils Holgersson“ which was enroute Rostock-Trelleborg. The crew had informed the MRCC Bremen via VHF that they suspected a stroke, and short before 4 a.m. the lifeboat rushed for the ferry as a helicopter transport was impossible. 45 minutes later the lifeboat was alongside. The patient was transferred and treated with first aid during the return trip to Barhöft where an ambulance was waiting.
