Medevac in the early morning
In the early morning of Juen 11 the lifeboat "Theo Fischer" of the DGzRS-station Barhöft medevaced an elderly Swiss passenger from the "Nils Holgersson“ which was enroute Rostock-Trelleborg. The crew had informed the MRCC Bremen via VHF that they suspected a stroke, and short before 4 a.m. the lifeboat rushed for the ferry as a helicopter transport was impossible. 45 minutes later the lifeboat was alongside. The patient was transferred and treated with first aid during the return trip to Barhöft where an ambulance was waiting. Nils Holgersson returns from repair yard
The "Nils Holgersson" departed from the repair yard in Landskrona on May 24 at 6.15 p.m. and reached Trelleborg short before midnight, where loading operations for the first transit back to Lübeck-Travemünde after the collision with the "Urd" on May 3.
Prosecutors investigating against captain
On May 7 the 14 trailers from the flooded lower car deck of the "Urd" could finally be recovered and pulled ashore at berth 3 of the Scandinavia Quay in Luebeck. Meanwhile prosecutors are investigating against the captain of the "Nils Holgersson“ who obvoiusly has caused the accident by mishandling of the rudder gear. The AZIPOS system had not been switched on harbour mode as necessary so that the propulsion pod could only be turned 35 degrees to each side. Also it is not possible to go full astern in this mode.
