Medevac off Gouadeloupe
On Jan 25, 2016, a 63 year old passenger of the "Aidamar" fell ill, and the ship's doctor requested medical assistance for an evacuation while the ship was northwest of Guadeloupe. The CROSS-AG immediately established a conference call with the center of maritime medical consultation in Toulouse for the assessment of the patient's situation. A medevac by helicopter was decided, and the medical maritime coordination Antilles-Guyana in connection with the SAMU of Guadeloupe sent a medical team and two divers of the Police Pointe-à-Pitre who took off with a Dragon 971 helicopter of the civil security and reached the cruise ship shortly before 4 a.m. The patient is hoisted one hour later and taken to the Pointe à Pitre University Hospital at 5.20 a.m.
