Engine trouble off Piraeus
The Port Authority of Piraeus was informed in the night of Aug 21, 2021, about the malfunction of the port side main engine of the "Agia Marina Aeginas' when entering the port of Piraeus, with 134 passengers and 11 crew members, while serving the route from the ports of Agia Marina and Souvala, to Piraeus. The ship continued its voyage at a reduced speed and safely berthed in Piraeus, where it disembarked its passengers. The Port Authority banned the ship from sailing until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of seaworthyness by the classification society that monitors it. As of Aug 22, the ship remained stationary in port.
Sustained damage to its starboard main engine, vessel detained
Ferry Agia Marina Aiginis (247 gt, built 2000), during its scheduled departure from port of Piraeus, sustained damage to its starboard main engine, at approximately 0900 hrs, today. The port authority has detained the vessel in port until the engine is repaired and a class survey certificate is issued. The 78 passengers on board were forwarded to their destinations by another vessel.
Ferry suffered engine trouble
The port authority of Argosaronikos was informed by the captain of the "Agia Marina Aiginis" about a malfunction of the starbord side main engine, in particular the exhaust gas connection, on June 20, 2019, at 10.45 a.m. The ferry was detained until the damage was repaired and the class certificate presented by the attending classification society. The ship was on its scheduled service from Piraeus to the Agia Marina port of Aegina. The 51 passengers and two vehicles were forwarded to their destinations by care of the shipowner.
