Water ingress off Büsum
On Sep 1, 2017, the "Äsche" 116 dwt (IMO-No.: 8884658), suffered engine failure and water ingress four miles NW of Büsum. The lifeboat "Theodor Storm" was alerted and went alongside. the ship was towed back to port at 1 p.m. The damage was said to have been caused by a ruptured pipe while the LCT was moored. The water inside the engine room was disposed of properly in Büsum. The ship was undertaking surveys for the Nordlink cable between Norway and Germany.
