Adriana scrapped after allision with flood barrier

Vessel grounded after allision
The "Adriana", 1130 ts (EU-No.: 04000090), allided with pilings at Gandersum in the evening of Dec 29, 2011, and was breached at the bow. The ship was enroute Herbrum - Emden. The master was able to get the ship through the flood barrier of Gandersum before grounding it on the north shore of the Ems to keep it from sinking. The custom boat "Emden" was soon on scene, the shipping authority sent the "Lütje Hörn" and "Friesland". The ship could be kept from sinking with additional dewaterin pumps but was unable to get off the shore. The tug "Radbod" was called from Emden and refloated the vessel.
