Captain accused by German police of killing fish with ship's propellers
The police in Würzburg on Nov 5, 2023, started investigations against Alexander Kamenov, the Bulgarian captain of the "Adora" in Würzburg. He has been accused of manslaughter of fish, after he stopped with the ship for a rest. Two police officers boarded the ship and worte an indictment for turning the ship's propellers, killing a dozen fish. The situation is absurd, because the port is part of a federal waterway and is intended for berthing of ships, and the berthing place is not determined by the master, but by the port authorities. Members of a Society of Environmentalists had filed a report about the fish, and the water police had no choice but to react, because they did not want to have problems with the authorities. They took a statement from the captain, photographed his identity card and the captain's license. They advised him to write in the explanation that he regretted his act in order to appease the prosecutor. The 68 year old Alexander Kamenov is the first Bulgarian licensed captain on the Rhine and a permanent member of German examination committees for the acquisition of captain's qualifications. Kamenov has over 40 years of total sailing experience. Report with photo: https://www.dunavmost.com/novini/kapitan-ot-ruse-e-obvinen-ot-germanskata-politsiya-v-ubiistvo-na-ribki
