Adler IV stuck off Amrum
On July 13, 2013, the "Adler IV" ran aground off the Amrum Odde at the northern tip of the Island. The ship was on its way back from Amrum to Sylt, but the water in the so-called "Mittelloch" in the fairway was too shallow to pass, leaving the Ferry high and dry.
Adler IV stuck again
The "Adler IV" ran aground with 160 passengers on board in the evening of Oc 2, 2011, between Amrum and Hörnum. Possible the captain misjugded the water depth. The lifeboat "Horst Heiner Koeten" of the DGzRS-station Hörnum and the small boat "Japsand" of the kifeboat "Vormann Leiss" from Amrum as well as the "Kniepsand" of the Coast Guard with its small boat "Odde“ and a raft of the Catamaran Club Sylt attended. In calm sea all passengers were safely evacuated as well as a dog and transferred on board the sister ship "Adler VI". The evacuation was completed at 8.50 p.m. Due to the falling tide the vessel remained stuck until the morning of Oct 3 when it refloated with own power at 4 a.m. and proceeded to Hörnum.
Adler IV inspected in Hoernum
After the "Adler IV" safely moored in Hoernum on Sep 3 at 6 a.m., the passengers were disemabarked and the ship inspected by German Lloyd during the foremidday hours. After no damage was found, the "Adler IV" resumed its trips from Amrum and Föhr to Sylt on Sep 4 according to schedule.
