Bulk carrier participated in SAR operation

Maritime authorities along with the 'Anthia' were searching for the eight crew members of the f/v "Los Delfines", which was reported missing since the afternoon of April 30, 2023, after leaving La Ensenada. The boat was reported as having been damaged by relatives of one of the occupants of the boat, who had received a call from a satellite phone, which was triangulated in position 11 ° 33.61 N 062° 47.77 W 22 nautical miles northeast of the Los Testigos archipelago. The crew was left in the water with improvised floating objects and the Iridium brand satellite phone. Based on these data, the Carúpano Coast Guard Main Station ordered a sweep in the area to search for the missing in the area, with the patrol boat 'ESGLT-005' of the Coastguard and the "Anthia". Also the coastal surveillance vessels AB “Yavire” and AB “Alcaravan” were moobilized towards the search area. As of April 1, no sighting of the missing has been achieved.
