New port slated at Anqing in Anhui province
A new port is slated to be built on the Yangtze in Anhui province. RMB4bn will be spent in the coming three years to build a large port complex at Anqing on the north shore of China’s longest river. Yangtze river ports are all being massively upgraded at the moment and form part of SinoShip’s Ports feature in the upcoming Issue Four of the magazine. [17/09/12]
Port of Anqing sees box volume grow 34pc in May
ANQING, a lower Yangtze river port in eastern Anhui province, registered a record breaking monthly container throughput of 1,919 TEU in May, an increase of 34 per cent compared to the same period a year ago, Xinhua reports. In the first five months, the port's box throughput totalled to 6,969 TEU, which is the highest of all volume recorded in the same period in the past years.
