Phospine barrels on fire in Amsterdam
On Apr 4, 2014, at 5.30 p.m. a fire broke out aboard the "Zina" which was moored in the western port area of Amsterdam. On deck stood a number of barrels with phosphine which for unknown reason had caught fire. Nine persons have been evacuated from the ship to be checked by ambulance staff for injuries. 11 others remained on board and were taken to a safe place on the ship. Firefighters fought the fire with dry sand. It was dpumped from another ship onto the burning barrels with a crane. The ship was moored in a fairly remote place, and the smoke rose straight up because there was little wind so the port did not have to be closed to other vessels.
