YOGI 9479785
In the evening of Dec 3, 2012, both rescue stations on Terschelling were alerted after the "Yogi" encountered problems with a towage. Earlier in the day, the "Yogi" and a tug had been working jointly on a 200 meter ling pipeline when the tug got its propeller fouled by the towing cable. The salvage company Noordgat was called to take the tug tug to Terschelling, while the Yogi" continued to drag the pipeline alonge. But later in the evening, the "Yogi" itself got problems with the pipeline, and the crew decided to cut the towing line. But something went wrong, and the cable remained got stuck in the rudder of the "Yogi". The "Yogi" was hampered in maneuvering by this and in danger of drifting aground on the Gronden in northwesterly wind of 7/8 bf. The lifeboats "Arie Visser" and "Frans Hogewind" were alarmed and both quickly on the spot. Short time later the "Yogi" reported that it freed itself from the tow and would, after controlling the damage caused, continue towards the harbor. The "Frans Hogewind" returned to its station, while the "Arie Visser" remained on standby until it was ensured that the "Yogi" had not suffered serious damage. Half an hour later the crew reported that the situation was under control and they would now start looking for the lost pipeline, and the "Arie Visser" also returned to its station.
Crane barge ran on rocks off Brehat
On June 22. 2012, around 3:00 a.m. the "Yogi" struck a rock off the east coast of the island of Brehat. The grounding caused a leak under the pontoon crane. The MRCC Corsen, which was alerted by the semaphore of Saint-Quay Portrieux, dispatched a boat of the SNSM Loguivy with two dewatering pumps on board. As a precaution, the pontoon crane laid out an anti-pollution barrier as one of its tanks containing diesel had suffered a small leak. A Cayman helicopter of the Navy was dispatched which hoisted a team of Brest naval firemen and two additional motor pumps onto the ship. Around 8:00 a.m. the situation was under control, and the Yogi proceeded to the Port of Saint-Quay-Portrieux escorted by the SNSM-boat from Saint-Quay Portrieux. The "Yogi" and the barge"Stemat 89 as well as the tug "Dutch Power" are laying out submarine cables for the windfarm off Bréhat since early June.
