Fishing vessel towed to Cuxhaven
On March 1, 2018, the "Celeste Karlijn - WR 106" was disabled close to the windfarm Meerwind South, 23 kilometers north of Heligoland. Initially the guard ship "Glomar Endurance" went on standby, until the lifeboat "Hermann Marwede" of the DGzRS arrived. Due to the stormy weather the attempts to take the ship in tow failed in winds of seven Beaufort and wave heights of 3-3,5 meters. The "Nordic" and the lifeboat "Ernst Meier Hede" were thus alerted, and the "Nordic" managed to take the vessel in tow to Cuxhaven, arriving there at 8.45 p.m. At the outer Elbe anchorage the tug "Taucher Otto Wulf 8" (MMSI: 211328570) took over and started pulling the fishing vessel to Cuxhaven. It was safely berthed at the Brunsbüttelhöft in Cuxhaven the same evening at 8.45 p.m., sailing again on March 3.
Trawler aground at Callandsoog
On Mar 5, 2014, around noon the KNRM Den Helder was alerted after the "Celeste Karlijn" had run aground at the T2 buoy. Short time later, the Coast Guard also notified the crew of the Callantsoog station because of the position of the stranded ship in the shallows around the Razende Bol. They deployed the Atlantic 75 boat "Koen Oberman" of the Callantsoog station as the the "Joke Dijkstra" had too much draught to close in on the vessel. The "Koen Obermann" transferred a rope from the "Joke Dijkstra" to the trawler. After the depth was sounded, it could be successfully pulled off and taken to open water. The two lifeboats returned to their stations. Dutch report with photos: http://www.knrm.nl/service/reddingrapporten/?contentID=6CABAFB5
